Roofmates Terms of Service

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live, provide accurate account information, safeguard your device and login, and notify support of suspected unauthorized access.

What Roofmates does

Roofmates provides collaboration tools and a shared ledger. It is not a bank, lender, money transmitter, escrow agent, investment adviser, credit bureau, debt collector, landlord, property manager, or legal or tax adviser. Unless a separately approved feature says otherwise, Roofmates does not custody or transfer roommate funds.

Shared records and content

You authorize Roofmates to show content to the household, Event, Pool, transaction, or participant audience selected by the product rules. You retain ownership of your content and grant the provider the limited rights needed to host, transmit, display, secure, support, improve, and process it.

This general license does not authorize identifiable private messages, receipt images, household data, financial records, or support correspondence for AI-model training. Any future identifiable-content training program requires a separate, specific, default-off opt-in. Aggregate or de-identified statistics may be used for reliability and feature planning without attempting re-identification.

Acceptable use

Do not break the law or another person’s rights; harass or impersonate; submit fraudulent records; bypass security; introduce malware; scrape the service; or use Roofmates commerce as a generic person-to-person payment rail.

Premium and payments

Any paid feature, price, billing period, renewal, trial, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before purchase. Native digital purchases remain subject to the applicable app-store rules. Raw card or bank credentials stay with the payment provider.

Account deletion

Request deletion in the app or through the public deletion page. Open shared obligations do not block deletion. Shared ledger and audit history that other participants rely on may remain under a non-identifying “Deleted user” label as described in the Privacy Policy.

Platform license

Apple-distributed copies use Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless the App Store listing identifies a replacement. Google Play and other distribution platforms may impose additional terms. These service terms address the Roofmates account and service relationship.
