One place

Everything a household shares, in one place.

Home, Wallet, House, and You. The same four destinations on iOS and Android, so a house that mixes phones still shares one mental model.

homeHome

What needs you today, and nothing more.

Home opens on the house you're in, what's waiting on you, and a private summary of where you stand. Quick add puts a receipt, expense, event, or pool one tap away.

Next up Your money · private Coming up
credit_cardWallet

A ledger that still reads clearly in six months.

Every expense keeps its participants, its payer, and its shares. Settlements are recorded against the expense they close, so the history explains itself instead of needing to be remembered.

Roofmates records the settlement. It never moves the money.

groupsHouse

Members, guests, plans, and the threads around them.

House holds who lives here, who's been invited, and the plans they're making — events with their guest lists, pools tracking a shared goal, and a conversation attached to each one.

How it works
01

Shared expenses without losing context

Add an expense, choose exactly who participates, and let Roofmates keep the obligations straight. Settlements are recorded against the expense they close, so the ledger stays readable months later.

02

Plans and pools that stay connected to participants

Events carry their guest list, invitations, and RSVPs. Pools track contributions toward a shared goal. Each knows exactly who is involved — and nothing assumes the whole house is.

03

The right conversations with the right people

Every household, event, pool, and transaction can carry its own thread. The conversation lives next to the thing it is about, with exactly the people it involves — not one group chat for everything.

A household view that respects private activity

Joining a household doesn't put your whole life on a shared bulletin board. The House view shows members what involves them, while private expenses and conversations stay with their participants.

The weekend, handled

Three days by the lake, and everyone already knew the plan.

The event carried its own guest list, its own chat, and a pool for the cabin. Everyone saw their part — nobody had to chase the group text.

Boundaries

Coordinate what's shared.
Keep context intact.

Household membership does not automatically make every expense, plan, or conversation visible to everyone. Every activity in Roofmates belongs to one of six scopes, and visibility follows participation.

Roofmates is a coordination tool and shared ledger. It does not hold or transfer roommate funds.

HouseholdVisible to every current member of the house.
EventScoped to an event's participants and invited guests.
PoolShared with the people contributing to a pooled plan.
TransactionLimited to a single expense's participants.
PrivateYours alone, or a chosen few — never house-wide by default.
GuestLets non-members join an event without joining the house.
Launch status

Coming to every screen, the moment each listing is verified.

Roofmates is one account across mobile, web, and desktop. Links appear here only after each store or download listing is live and verified by Cedarwave Technologies.

Questions

What Roofmates
is — and is not.

Who is Roofmates for?add

Adults coordinating a shared household — roommates, friends, co-living houses, and people setting up a new home together.

Does Roofmates hold or transfer money?add

No. Roofmates is a coordination tool and shared ledger. It is not a bank, lender, money transmitter, or escrow service and does not custody roommate funds.

Does everyone see every activity?add

No. Visibility follows participation across household, Event, Pool, transaction, private, and guest contexts.

Which platforms are planned?add

Roofmates is being built as native apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets, a web app you can open in any browser, and native desktop apps for macOS and Windows — one account and the same household, everywhere.
