Roofmates Privacy Policy
Roofmates by Cedarwave Technologies helps adults coordinate shared living, including household membership, shared expenses and settlements, invitations, Events, Pools, receipt attachments, and participant-scoped conversations. This policy explains how IQBAL, LLC d/b/a Cedarwave Technologies handles information through the Roofmates apps, websites, and related services.
Information we collect

No advertising sale or tracking
Roofmates does not sell personal information, serve third-party behavioral ads, or track users across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. Roofmates does not use an advertising identifier and does not request a device address book, precise location, health information, or raw card or bank credentials.
Product improvement, new features, and AI
Roofmates may use service records and diagnostics to operate, secure, support, evaluate, and improve existing features and to plan new ones. Roofmates does not use identifiable private messages, receipt images, household data, financial records, or support correspondence to train general-purpose or Roofmates-specific AI models by default.
Aggregate statistics and information de-identified before analysis may be used for reliability, feature evaluation, and product planning. Roofmates does not attempt to re-identify that information. Any future use of identifiable or user-provided content for model training, fine-tuning, or evaluation-set creation requires a separate, specific, default-off opt-in that identifies the data, purpose, provider, retention, and withdrawal effect. A change to this policy alone is not consent to model training.
Retention and deletion
Roofmates keeps information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service, maintain records participants rely on, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the record and may also be limited by an approved legal or security hold.
Request deletion in the app from the You tab by selecting Delete account, or through the public deletion page. Open shared obligations do not prevent deletion. After confirmation, Roofmates removes or de-identifies direct account information, retires device installations, and queues deletion of the associated authentication account and private receipt objects.
Open or settled shared financial, settlement, dispute, audit, security, and legally required records may remain under the non-identifying “Deleted user” label when other participants rely on that history. Encrypted recovery copies may retain deleted information until their normal backup cycle expires. Retained records are not used for advertising or model training.
Security
Roofmates uses safeguards including TLS in transit, managed encrypted storage, restricted database roles, least-privilege access, encrypted push tokens, signed provider webhooks, audit logs, rate limiting, secret management, and monitored recovery processes. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a request decision. Use the in-app controls or email roofmates-support@cedarwavetechnologies.com. We may verify identity before fulfilling a request.
Children and international processing
Roofmates is not directed to children under 13, and the Terms require users to be at least 18 or the age of legal majority where they live. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where approved service providers operate.
